Work at the facility will include work on its lagoon reactor system, a new sewage treatment facility and new pipes in an aim to increase capacity to treat and manage wastewater and to accommodate population growth.<\/p>\n<p>Also set to be upgraded is the wastewater treatment system in Neepawa, which will be expanded to treat and manage wastewater and storm water. That project involves implementing a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor system, upgrading the treatment building, and adding a lab, among other works.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the Canadian government is providing more than $18.7 million, with the Manitoba government providing more than $15.6 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestments in infrastructure stimulate local economies and create jobs for Manitobans, in addition to facilitating municipal growth,\u201d stated Reg Helwer, Minister of Labour, Consumer Protection and Government Services. \u201cThis lagoon expansion and upgrade will significantly improve Dauphin\u2019s wastewater system and support efficiency, sustainability and a cleaner environment in the Parkland region for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"0x0Z7BIF\">\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to see this investment through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program,\u201d said Dauphin\u2019s mayor, Christian Laughland. \u201cCompletion of the lagoon expansion will allow Dauphin to grow our population and industry.<\/p>\n<p>The Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program is providing $33.5 billion over 11 years for public infrastructure across Canada.
