Today, we are following up with a summary of all the projects that are just beginning their respective construction journeys.<\/p>\n<p>While the road to completion is always a long one, looking at these projects now allows us to peer into the future of this city and follow where the trends in design and development are headed. Here is everything you need to know about the newest group of construction projects getting started in the GTA. For more info and images, you can click the link in each title to visit the associated Database file and join the conversation in the Forum Thread!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Towers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/grand-central-mimico-buckingham.24721\" target=\"_blank\">Grand Central Mimico: The Buckingham<\/a> | 37, 26, 12 Storeys<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/vandyk-properties.8519\" target=\"_blank\">Vandyk Properties<\/a>&#8216; has taken the first step towards delivering its proposed 9-tower master-planned community, Grand Central Mimico, getting construction of the first phase underway late last year. As shoring continues for the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/liberty-development.7756\" target=\"_blank\">Liberty Development<\/a>\u00a0project, the foundations for the future 2-tower development will emerge soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/forum\/threads\/toronto-galleria-iii-111-5m-31s-almadev-hariri-pontarini.31581\/page-8#post-1865493\" target=\"_blank\">Galleria III<\/a>\u00a0| 42 Storeys\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With a flurry of activity taking place on the site of\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/almadev.7704\" target=\"_blank\">Almadev<\/a>&#8216;s master-planned <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/galleria-park.23074\" target=\"_blank\">Galleria On The Park<\/a> community at Dupont and Dufferin Streets, keeping track of what&#8217;s what can be a tricky process. To keep things simple, we can confirm that the project&#8217;s third tower is on the way, as shoring begins for the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/hariri-pontarini-architects.8001\" target=\"_blank\">Hariri Pontarini Architects<\/a>-designed Galleria III.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/regent-park-daniels-parliament.42332\" target=\"_blank\">Regent Park: Daniels on Parliament<\/a> | 25, 10 Storeys\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Closing out the third phase of development in the city-altering Regent Park revitalization project,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/daniels-corporation.7835\" target=\"_blank\">The Daniels Corporation<\/a>&#8216;s latest project is currently a hole in the ground. That won&#8217;t last long however, with the forming of the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/superkul.9158\" target=\"_blank\">superk\u00fcl<\/a>&#8211; designed project expected to make headway in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Mid-Rises:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/kazmir-condos.29149\" target=\"_blank\">Kazmir Condos<\/a> | 8 Storeys<\/p>\n<p>A new mid-rise will soon begin to rise above The Queensway, just east of Islington Avenue, as construction picks up on the site of\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/lormel-homes.8694\" target=\"_blank\">Lormel Homes<\/a>&#8216; Kazmir Condos. The project looks to make the most of the narrow site, delivering a simple massing that is elevated by details like 2-storey arched windows.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/centurion.18305\" target=\"_blank\">Centurion<\/a> | 9 Storeys<\/p>\n<p>A strong indication of the growth of Hamilton&#8217;s development industry is the spread of development beyond the City centre. This project, designed by\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/david-premi-architects-inc.18304\" target=\"_blank\">David Premi Architects Inc.<\/a>\u00a0will deliver a total of 73 units to Hamilton&#8217;s western reaches with a contemporary design that stands out in the rural area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/hilton-garden-inn-and-hampton-inn-vaughan.50376\" target=\"_blank\">Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn Vaughan<\/a> | 7 Storeys\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the early success of development in the Vaughn Metropolitan Centre, hotel brands are looking to get in on the action as well. Working with developers\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/gupta-group.7701\" target=\"_blank\">Gupta Group<\/a>, Hilton&#8217;s newest hotel is on the way, slated to offer 204 suites as well as at grade retail opportunities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/10-prince-arthur.44599\" target=\"_blank\">10 Prince Arthur<\/a> | 7 Storeys<\/p>\n<p>Yorkville will bear witness to the construction of an interesting project from\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/north-drive-investments-inc.7781\" target=\"_blank\">North Drive Investments Inc<\/a>\u00a0that intends to incorporate the existing house currently occupying the site into the final design of the boutique development. The house provides a template for the scale of the streetwall, while a number of stepbacks reveal the full 7-storey volume behind.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Low-Rises:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/u-t-trinity-college-residence.36519\" target=\"_blank\">U of T: Trinity College Residence<\/a> | 4 Storeys<\/p>\n<p>The University of Toronto is continuing to adapt with the times, creating new spaces for a growing student base to learn and live.
