{"id":12524,"date":"2023-01-31T16:53:26","date_gmt":"2023-02-01T00:53:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/costain-bridge-lift-delayed-by-ground-conditions\/"},"modified":"2023-01-31T16:53:27","modified_gmt":"2023-02-01T00:53:27","slug":"costain-bridge-lift-delayed-by-ground-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/costain-bridge-lift-delayed-by-ground-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"Costain bridge lift delayed by ground conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Main contractor Costain was due to oversee the lifting of a new bridge at Tolgroggan as part of its \u00a3330m A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Winter, National Highways\u2019 senior project manager for the scheme, told <em>Cornwall Live<\/em>: \u201cOur contractors have detected unsuitable ground conditions for the crane deployment, and we have taken the decision to put back the bridge installation by a week to ensure everything is right for what will be a large-scale lifting operation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ad-id=\"470319\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ciob.org%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cAdverse weather, a mixture of heavy rainfall and low temperatures, hasn\u2019t helped recently.
