Kievet declined to share the specific amount of the investment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Dive Insight:<\/h3>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The venture capital firm invested last week in Tusk Logistics, a Chicago-based supply chain company, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.titletowntech.com\/post\/titletowntech-invests-in-tusk-logistics\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>according to a press release<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Regarding Boldt\u2019s investment, Kievet pinpointed improvements to modularization as a specific area of interest.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cHow do we build more of our buildings in markets that have an abundance of labor and ship it to those parts of the country that don\u2019t have an abundance of labor?\u201d said Kievet. \u201cThat\u2019s one of the most difficult things to do \u2014 find the labor in some markets.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Boldt is also interested in technologies that make construction more efficient and with a higher degree of quality, namely robotics, welding and laser guidance.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cInstead of being relegated to working 7 to 3:30, maybe we can work 24 hours a day with larger projects where the construction equipment is automated,\u201d said Kievet. \u201cIt would just run automatically big site excavations, deep excavations, underground trenching. Welding operations can all be automated.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Boldt works in a range of sectors, such as commercial, higher education, healthcare and energy projects. The company completed last month the redesign and renovation of its new corporate headquarters in Appleton, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boldt.com\/news\/news-release\/the-boldt-company-announces-move-to-new-corporate-headquarters\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>according to a release<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>. The OneBoldt Center is a two-story office building set to officially open this spring.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Other contractors to also dabble in venture capital include Boston-based Suffolk.
