Most of the information it provides relates to necessary permits for existing one- or two-family homes and commercial storefronts, such as those for <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phila.gov\/programs\/smartcityphl\/permit-navigator\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>offices and retail sales<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cThe Permit Navigator is designed to improve the ease of doing business for business owners looking to open or expand in Philadelphia. The goal is to make it easier for residents to find information on business permits and licenses,\u201d said Philadelphia Department of Commerce Director Anne Nadol in a statement. \u201cCommerce staff will continue to provide one-on-one customer service, outreach, and education to businesses about City services.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The <span>SmartCity<\/span> <span>PHL<\/span> team, part of Philadelphia\u2019s Office of Innovation of Technology, collaborated with the Department of Commerce, the Department of Licenses and Inspections and the Department of Planning and Development to launch the pilot.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The city will hold public feedback sessions with businesses, community-based organizations, property owners and other stakeholders to learn whether the tool is helpful to them as they go through the permitting process.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Philadelphia joins other local and state governments, including <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/2023\/02\/03\/governor-newsom-announces-designation-of-three-more-california-jurisdictions-as-prohousing-for-strides-made-to-accelerate-housing-production\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sacramento County<\/a>, California, and the state of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opb.org\/article\/2023\/01\/31\/washington-state-lawmakers-promise-bipartisan-action-to-boost-housing-supply\/\" target=\"_blank\">Washington<\/a>,\u00a0trying to improve and speed up complex approval processes.
