{"id":12998,"date":"2023-02-10T17:12:33","date_gmt":"2023-02-11T01:12:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/feds-support-construction-of-over-70-housing-units-in-waterloo-ontario\/"},"modified":"2023-02-10T17:12:33","modified_gmt":"2023-02-11T01:12:33","slug":"feds-support-construction-of-over-70-housing-units-in-waterloo-ontario","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/feds-support-construction-of-over-70-housing-units-in-waterloo-ontario\/","title":{"rendered":"Feds support construction of over 70 housing units in Waterloo, Ontario"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Canada\u2019s federal government is part of a combined investment of nearly\u00a0$39 million\u00a0to construct more than 70 housing units in\u00a0Waterloo, Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government is contributing nearly\u00a0$5.5 million\u00a0through the National Housing Co-Investment Fund (NHCF), and the Region of\u00a0Waterloo\u00a0is providing over\u00a0$26 million\u00a0to the project.<\/p>\n<p>Located at 420 Kingscourt Drive, and owned and operated by the Region of\u00a0Waterloo, the project will feature 73 housing units, including 29 one-bedroom units, 21 two-bedroom units, 11 three-bedroom units, 7 four-bedroom units and 5 five-bedroom units to accommodate larger households. The ground floor of the building will feature a programming space which will serve senior tenants as well as the broader community.<\/p>\n<p>More than half of the units will be allocated to women and their children, as well as other low-income households.
