Matt Rossie has been named CEO at Webcor, the San Francisco-based contractor announced this week<\/a>. <\/span><\/span>The move is part of a long-planned succession<\/a> in preparation for former CEO Jes Pedersen\u2019s retirement later this year. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout his 22-year tenure at Webcor, Rossie has overseen some of the firm’s largest and most complex design-build and public-private partnerships projects, including:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • The University of California, Merced\u2019s, 2020 expansion.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • San Francisco Public Utilities Commission headquarters.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • San Francisco Museum of Modern Art expansion.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • The California Academy of Sciences museum project.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Pedersen and Rossie have been working closely on the transition since it was announced a year ago.\u00a0In addressing Rossie’s assumption of Webcor\u2019s top role, Pedersen said, \u201cMatt has instilled confidence in every project team and client with his unique ability to see the big picture while simultaneously diving into details and tactics.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Pedersen noted that Rossie was taking the reins at a very challenging time, given the impacts of the pandemic and rising interest rates. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cBut I have no doubt that his ability to devise unique solutions and build trust will lead to a pipeline filled with exciting new projects,\u201d Pedersen said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    One of the first items on Rossie\u2019s punch list in his new role will be to complete Webcor\u2019s strategic plan, focused on pursuing projects in market sectors that support profitable growth. He said he plans to spend his first few months in the new role listening to employees, clients and partners to help refine his vision for Webcor\u2019s long-term future. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
