the brainchild of joint developers Trilogy Real Estate and Hong Kong-based Peterson.<\/p>\n<p>They have pieced together the complex site made up of the Great Northern Warehouse, Deansgate Terrace, a 1990s extension known as \u201cthe Leisure Box\u201d, Deansgate Mews, and Great Northern Square.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_471963\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" redevelopment<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Designed by SimpsonHaugh, the development will see the historic warehouse converted into 120,000 sq ft workspace with nearly 750 flats delivered across 34-, 27-, and 16-storey tower blocks where the Leisure Box is presently located.<\/span><span alt=\"-\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The planning consent means the landmark heritage warehouse building in the heart of the city will, for the first time, become available as high-quality office accommodation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_471962\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/02\/X8ZLQ1ds-scaled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-471962 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/02\/X8ZLQ1ds-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"-\" width=\"2560\" height=\"2048\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">A new glazed atrium will be formed in the centre of the Warehouse to bring natural light into floors, with office space arranged around both this and the character-rich brick walls and vaulted ceilings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>At the same time, Deansgate Terrace will be restored and refreshed to provide 30,000 sq ft of flexible commercial space within the upper levels.<\/p>\n<p>A new pedestrian street, to be named Dean Street, will be created between the Warehouse and Deansgate Terrace.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_471957\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/02\/Screenshot-2023-02-16-at-15.29.19.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-471957 class=\"wp-caption-text\">Two taller buildings of 27 and 34 storeys will rise above a 2-storey podium building.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Leisure Box will be demolished to build three residential buildings, comprising\u00a0 a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom homes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ad-id=\"431748\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Foundations and basement floor structures of the Leisure Box will be retained, cutting the carbon footprint of construction.<\/p>\n<p>Great Northern Square, in
