company that owns the airport, said the plans include community funding proposals that, in time, could provide an additional \u00a314m every year for communities across Luton and neighbouring areas.<\/p>\n<p>Consent is being sought to build a new terminal, a major programme of earthworks to create an extension to the current airfield platform and new airside and landside facilities.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ad-id=\"93789\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionline.co.uk%2Fproducts-services%2Fmemberships%2F\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The airport owners also aim to enhance the surface access network and extend the Luton DART.<\/p>\n<p>It also wants to progress further infrastructure enhancements and initiatives to support the target of achieving zero-emission ground operations by 2040.<\/p>\n<p>The proposals have been shaped by an extensive consultation programme stretching across more than four years.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/02\/Luton-GG12.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-472325\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/02\/Luton-GG12.jpg\" alt=\"-\" width=\"1200\" height=\"600\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Luton Airport\u2019s Development Consent Order application comprises 198 documents, containing just over 25,000 detailed pages of proposals and plans.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ad-id=\"134243\" anticipation for the Inspectorate\u2019s decision as to whether we proceed to the examination stage of the DCO process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that this will mark the start of the next phase of our
