{"id":14176,"date":"2023-03-14T20:04:02","date_gmt":"2023-03-15T03:04:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/eleven-developers-face-ban-over-goves-building-safety-contracts\/"},"modified":"2023-03-14T20:04:09","modified_gmt":"2023-03-15T03:04:09","slug":"eleven-developers-face-ban-over-goves-building-safety-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/eleven-developers-face-ban-over-goves-building-safety-contracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Eleven developers face ban over Gove\u2019s building safety contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Around 49 firms signed a pledge last year to remediate fire-safety defects in buildings over 11 metres that they developed or refurbished over the last 30 years in England.<\/p>\n<p>But as the 13 March deadline to sign legally-binding contracts passed yesterday around a fifth of firms had still not signed.<\/p>\n<p>Today h<span class=\"normaltextrun\">ousing and levelling up secretary Michael Gove warned those firms that he would be coming after them.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-ad-id=\"142065\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fplantworx.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3DConstruction_Enquirer%2B%26utm_medium%3DWebsite_MPU%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Publishing lists today of both developers that had and had not signed, the Government reiterated that eligible developers that refused to comply faced significant consequences such as being banned from the market.<\/p>\n<div class=\"break-out-box\">\n<h3>Developers that have yet to sign the contract:<\/h3>\n<p>1.
