Nine proposals were received.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>At the same time, NAVFAC awarded the first, $126.13 million task order of the overall contract to a joint venture of Granite-Obayashi. That project includes an auto shop, an electrical and communications building, a vehicle wash facility, vehicle laydown areas, roadway construction, ancillary mechanical enclosures and incidental work in Finegayan, Guam for Ground Combat Element Infantry Battalions 1 and 2, according to the release. The work is expected to be completed by December 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>All work on the overall $2.5 billion contract will be performed primarily within the NAVFAC Pacific area of operations. About 80% of the work is in Guam, with 10% of the work located in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
