New awards in January included a $480 million bus depot in Queens and a $103 million academic commons building in Petersburg, Virginia.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>One quarter into the year, here\u2019s a look at some other projects coming down the pike for Skanska.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ed-secondary-content-box ed-secondary-content-box--expandable\">\n<p><strong>Award:<\/strong> Data center<br \/><strong>Value: <\/strong>$171 million<br \/><strong>Location:<\/strong> Atlanta<br \/><strong>Client:<\/strong> Undisclosed<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/skanska-builds-data-center-in-atlanta-usa-for-usd-171m-about-sek-1-8-billion-301790489.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Skanska announced a new contract<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> with \u201can existing client\u201d to construct a data center in Atlanta worth $171 million. The contract will be included in the builder\u2019s first quarter order bookings. Work on the one-story, 248,000 square-foot project is underway, and is scheduled for completion in March 2024.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ed-secondary-content-box ed-secondary-content-box--expandable\">\n<p><strong>Award:<\/strong> Hospital expansion<br \/><strong>Value:<\/strong> $111 million<br \/><strong>Location:<\/strong> Portland, Oregon<br \/><strong>Client:<\/strong> Oregon Health &amp; Science University<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usa.skanska.com\/who-we-are\/media\/press-releases\/271542\/Skanska-signs-additional-contract-to-expand-hospital-in-Portland%2c-Oregon%2c-USA%2c-for-111-million\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Skanska signed a contract amendment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> with the Oregon Health &amp; Science Commission worth $111 million, which will be included in the contractor\u2019s order bookings for Q1 2023. The contract work includes more patient floors, parking, mechanical and electrical work, three pedestrian sky bridges, roadway improvements and a bus stop.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Construction on the 538,000-square-foot, 14-story building began in 2022, and the hospital is expected to open to patients in 2026.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ed-secondary-content-box ed-secondary-content-box--expandable\">\n<p><strong>Award:<\/strong> Research center<br \/><strong>Value:<\/strong> $97 million<br \/><strong>Location:<\/strong> Oslo, Norway<br \/><strong>Client:<\/strong> Campus Ullev\u00e5l AS, the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute and Aspelin Ramm<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Skanska announced it had won a contract worth about 1 billion Swedish Krona ($97 million) to build a climate, energy, environment and <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/group.skanska.com\/media\/press-releases-articles\/271747\/Skanska-builds-research-center-in-Oslo%2c-Norway%2c-for-NOK-1.0-billion%2c-about-SEK-1.0-billion\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>geosciences research facility in Oslo<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>. It will become one of the first buildings completed in Oslo Science City, the Norwegian capital\u2019s new innovation district.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Construction will start this month and wrap in 2026. When finished, what is currently a parking lot will be a 387,500-square-foot facility with public meeting spaces and an activity space for children.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ed-secondary-content-box ed-secondary-content-box--expandable\">\n<p><strong>Award:<\/strong> Solitude buttress civil works project<br \/><strong>Value:<\/strong> $60 million<br \/><strong>Location:<\/strong> Globe, Arizona<br \/><strong>Client:<\/strong> BHP Copper<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Skanska also announced it signed a $60 million contract with BHP Copper to construct the <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/group.skanska.com\/media\/press-releases-articles\/271635\/Skanska-builds-Solitude-tailings-buttress-in-Globe%2c-Arizona%2c-USA-for-USD-60M%2c-about-SEK-630M\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Solitude buttress main civil works project<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> at the Solitude Closure Tailings mining site in Globe, Arizona.
