{"id":15558,"date":"2023-04-18T09:44:31","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T16:44:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/rescon-objects-to-rushing-green-building-construction-standards\/"},"modified":"2023-04-18T09:44:32","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T16:44:32","slug":"rescon-objects-to-rushing-green-building-construction-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/rescon-objects-to-rushing-green-building-construction-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"RESCON objects to rushing green building construction standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>April 17, 2023, Vaughan, Ont. \u2013 The Residential Construction Council of Ontario (RESCON) expressed in a press release they\u2019re \u201cconcerned that the provincial government is rushing to implement new green building standards related to building construction at the same time it is proposing to build 1.5 million new homes by 2031.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ontario is in the process of setting up meetings to begin developing a new province-wide approach for interested municipalities and other stakeholders on transitioning to certain green building standards related to building construction into the OBC.
