The deal will see the Aecon Transportation East (ATE) roadbuilding, aggregates and materials businesses in Ontario transfer hands for $235 million in cash.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"magnific nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.on-sitemag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Aecon_Group_Inc__Aecon_selected_to_deliver_the_Deerfoot_Trail_Im.jpeg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1003979334\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/05\/Aecon_Group_Inc__Aecon_selected_to_deliver_the_Deerfoot_Trail_Im-300x79.jpeg\" alt=\"-\" width=\"300\" height=\"79\"><\/a>\u201cWe are excited to add ATE\u2019s vertically integrated roadbuilding solutions\u2019 business in Ontario to GIP\u2019s existing platform, further solidifying the breadth of our services to support public infrastructure from our operations in Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Quebec,\u201d said Patrick Dovigi, GIP\u2019s executive chair when the agreement was initially announced. \u201cWe saw a tremendous opportunity to enhance the scale and service offerings around our vertically integrated Coco Paving platform, with the self-perform capabilities initially added from GFL\u2019s infrastructure division and to accelerate our growth through acquisition, further consolidating GIP\u2019s position as one of Canada\u2019s premier suppliers of critical infrastructure maintenance services. This acquisition is one of those great opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition significantly increases GIP\u2019s suite of vertically integrated roadbuilding services and materials supply capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe combination of ATE and GIP\u2019s roadbuilding expertise will position GIP with the skills, equipment and services to perform virtually any size of provincial, municipal or private infrastructure project,\u201d stated Dovigi.<\/p>\n<p>Green Infrastructure Partners was formed on its acquisition of GFL Infrastructure Group and Coco Paving and their respective affiliates.
