A month after Toronto’s\u00a0Building Industry and Land Development Association<\/a> (BILD) published their shortlists for the projects that would be competing to take home one of the 2023 BILD Awards, the results are officially in. Recognizing the best of the year in an array of categories, from best new community, to best suite design, to best branding, this year’s class of winners were selected by a panel of judges appointed by BILD, and are representative of the high standard of development that keeps the Greater Toronto Area evolving year in and year out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To offer a summary of the highlights from the 2023 BILD Awards, we have prepared a roundup of some of the notable award winners\u2026 but with almost 50 different awards given this year, a trip to BILD’s website \u2014 linked here<\/a>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0will reveal the full list of winning projects! Check out some of the winning projects and companies below, and click on their respective links to learn more.<\/p>\n

People’s Choice Award: <\/strong>Harbourwalk at Lakeview Village<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Tridel<\/a><\/p>\n

The 19-storey residential development is designed by\u00a0architects\u2014Alliance<\/a>\u00a0and is set to be the anchor building for the exciting Lakeview Village development in Mississauga.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tridel’s Harbourwalk at Lakeview Village takes home the People’s Choice Award, image from submission to City of MIssissauga<\/span><\/p>\n

Best New Community (Planned):<\/strong> ClockWork<\/a> |\u00a0Mattamy Homes<\/a><\/p>\n

Now in its second phase, Mattamy’s master-planned community in Oakville is coming together neatly, with design work from\u00a0BNKC<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Best Community (Built): <\/strong>Waterworks<\/a> |\u00a0MOD Developments Inc.<\/a>,\u00a0Woodcliffe Properties<\/a><\/p>\n

The Waterworks Building Redevelopment is an exceptional demonstration of adaptive reuse, in the heart of Downtown Toronto, intensifying the historic site with residential and community uses, contained within a slick design from\u00a0Diamond Schmitt Architects<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Project of the Year (Low-rise):<\/strong> The Heights of Harmony<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Minto Communities GTA<\/a><\/p>\n

This townhouse community in Northern Oshawa thrives on spacious single family home options designed by\u00a0RN Design<\/a>, as well as a wealth of greenspace.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Project of the Yeah (High-rise):<\/strong>\u00a0Cielo Condos<\/a> |\u00a0Collecdev<\/a><\/p>\n

Currently under construction in the Annex, Cielo Condos will bring a second life to the 19th century Bloor United Church building, while delivering a total of 284 new units within a 29-storey tower.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Best High-rise Building Design:<\/strong>\u00a0Harbourwalk at Lakeview Village<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Tridel<\/a><\/p>\n

The terraced design of the building is coupled with a grand central courtyard to offer a highly efficient and livable design that works to manage the scale of the 19-storey building.<\/p>\n

Home Builder of the Year (Mid\/High-rise):<\/strong>\u00a0The Daniels Corporation<\/a><\/p>\n

Working actively across the GTA, Daniels’ efforts in the redevelopment of Regent Park have earned the developers top marks for the nearly 20 years the project has been active.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Best Suite Design: <\/strong>The Parker<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Fitzrovia<\/a><\/p>\n

The 39-storey tower in Midtown brings a new level of luxury to the rental market, with suite designs from\u00a0Figure3<\/a>\u00a0adding another dimension to the high end offerings at The Parker.<\/p>\n
