{"id":17050,"date":"2023-05-14T22:52:35","date_gmt":"2023-05-15T05:52:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/u-s-construction-unemployment-hits-record-low-for-april\/"},"modified":"2023-05-14T22:52:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-15T05:52:36","slug":"u-s-construction-unemployment-hits-record-low-for-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/u-s-construction-unemployment-hits-record-low-for-april\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. construction unemployment hits record low for April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>ARLINGTON, VA. \u2014 The U.S. construction sector added 15,000 jobs in April while the sector\u2019s unemployment rate fell to a record low for the month, according to recent <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/agcofdc.informz.net\/z\/cjUucD9taT0xMTA2MzMzNyZwPTEmdT0xMTQwMTYzMTc4JmxpPTEwMTg2NTg0NA\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">analysis<\/a> of new government data from the Associated General Contractors of America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cContractors can\u2019t find, reach, hire and train workers fast enough to keep pace with demand,\u201d said Stephen Sandherr, the association\u2019s chief executive officer, in a release. \u201cThe pool of qualified, available labour is the smallest the industry has ever seen for the month of April.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Construction employment in April totalled 7,903,000, seasonally adjusted, an addition of 15,000 or 0.2 per cent from the month prior.<\/p>\n<p>Nonresidential construction firms added only 800 employees in April.
