establish<\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> a battery pack manufacturing factory in the U.S., <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>the company announced last week.<\/span><\/span><strong><span><span> <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span>The new factory will produce battery packs for commercial <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>vehicles <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>and will have <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>capacity to produce 4.2 gigawatts hours<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span> a year, with the ability to expand as demand <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>rises.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span>While Coulomb Solutions hasn\u2019t chosen a location, the company said it has<\/span><\/span><strong><span><span> <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>narrowed its search to Arizona, Nevada and Texas and will finalize its selection by early summer.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Dive Insight:<\/h3>\n<p>Coulomb Solutions will source its lithium-iron-phosphate battery cells from China-based energy company Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL).\u00a0<span><span><span><span><span>These cells offer<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u201cgreater durability and are much safer than nickel-cobalt-based chemistries,\u201d the company said in the announcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Coulomb Solutions is the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/coulombsolutions.com\/blog\/csi-is-proudly-awarded-as-the-catl-battery-commercial-vehicle-products-distributor-in-north-america-region\/\" target=\"_blank\">North American distributor<\/a>\u00a0for CATL\u2019s battery solutions for commercial vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>planned <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>battery <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>pack <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>factory <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>will <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>create 300 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>jobs, including in <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>production, assembly, quality, engineering <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>and<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span> supply <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span>chain<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <span>Mazaika<\/span> said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>The company is ramping up its manufacturing capacity as demand rises for its battery solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>In December, Coulomb Solutions signed a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/coulomb-solutions-inc-to-supply-phoenix-motorcars-unique-catl-battery-solutions-301690491.html\" target=\"_blank\">memorandum of understanding<\/a>\u00a0with Phoenix Motorcars to provide battery solutions for the EV maker\u2019s commercial models.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Coulomb Solutions introduced its <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/coulomb-solutions-inc-csi-introduces-20kw-on-board-charger-for-commercial-electric-vehicles-301809367.html\" target=\"_blank\">20kW on-board charger<\/a>, which will be used for commercial EVs in North America.
