{"id":17288,"date":"2023-05-20T11:16:52","date_gmt":"2023-05-20T18:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/breedon-swoops-for-roads-surfacing-contractor\/"},"modified":"2023-05-20T11:16:54","modified_gmt":"2023-05-20T18:16:54","slug":"breedon-swoops-for-roads-surfacing-contractor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/breedon-swoops-for-roads-surfacing-contractor\/","title":{"rendered":"Breedon swoops for roads surfacing contractor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Founded in Lincoln in 1999, Minster works for the Ministry of Defence resurfacing runways and airfields for the RAF as well as repairing roads across Lincolnshire, Shropshire, Cambridgeshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and London.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The majority stake in Minister includes civil engineers Minster Surfacing and Alliance Recycling.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The deal will enable Breedon to grow its presence in the East of England and beyond, while also expanding its recycling capabilities and supporting Minster\u2019s future ambitions.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bruce Spencer-Knott, co-founder of Minster, will remain in position as the firm\u2019s Managing Director and the business will be a distinct brand within Breedon.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Spencer-Knott said: \u201cAfter 24 years of growing Minster Group into one of the country\u2019s leading independent contractors, it\u2019s time to take things to the next level, securing its future as part of Breedon Group.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe immediate investment will allow us to add to our fleet of machinery to keep up with the demands of our clients.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt also gives us long term security and sustainability, safeguarding jobs and protecting what the team and I have established while also helping us to scale up and grow.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He added: \u201cBreedon shares our commitment to smarter, greener surfacing and civil engineering so this deal will also help to take our commitment to innovation, technology and recycling to a whole new level.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">James Haluch, Managing Director of Breedon\u2019s GB Surfacing Solutions business, said: \u201cI am delighted to welcome Minster Group to Breedon to further enhance the combined expertise of both businesses.
