The project would have provided offices for 2,000 workers in digital technology, finance and product development, including Disney World&#8217;s Imagineers, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/disney-ends-plans-to-relocate-thousands-of-employees-to-new-florida-campus-ca68a49e\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>according to the Wall Street Journal<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span>Vahle\u2019s letter makes no mention of the company\u2019s ongoing feud with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has dueled with the Mouse over an education law that limits the discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools. DeSantis\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>attempted to strip some of Disney&#8217;s tax breaks in the state<span><span><span><span><span><span>, made the Disney World monorail subject to inspection by the Florida DOT and placed rides at the theme park under inspections by the state Department of Agriculture.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"standard-heading\"><span><span><span><span><span><span>Dive Insight:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Vahle emphasized that Disney\u2019s enormous presence in the state will continue.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cOur plans currently call for us to invest $17 billion in Walt Disney World over the next 10 years and create 13,000 new jobs to continue doing our part as a leading employer in the hospitality and themed entertainment industry,\u201d Vahle said in the letter. \u201cWe hope those plans will become a future reality.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Those plans include 80 acres of land to <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.multifamilydive.com\/news\/disney-selects-partner-for-orlando-workforce-housing-project\/637108\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>create affordable housing<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in the community.
