The Re-Imagining Tate Liverpool is a major remodelling of the building to improve the gallery\u2019s visibility and presence on the dock underlining its credentials as a leading international cultural institution.<\/p>\n

Already 6a architects has been appointed to redesign the iconic 1846 warehouse that was redesigned by Sir James Stirling and Michael Wilford in the late 1980s.<\/p>\n

Planned works will include significant alterations throughout the galleries including breakout of floors, new lifts and stairs, as well as a complete building services refit and fa\u00e7ade replacement.<\/p>\n

The design is hoped to reveal more of the former Victorian warehouse through its new open plan ground floor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The chosen contractor will initially work for 3 months under a pre-construction services agreement before agreeing a final price for the 17-month revamp.<\/p>\n
