Unfortunately for the photo ops, the project is still very much an active construction site, as work remains ongoing, to complete both the underground parking facility as well as significant portions of the grade level landscaping, but certainly there are some new greener vistas to celebrate already!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><imgx alt=\"Landscape of Landmark Quality, landscaping redevelopment at U of T St George Campus designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates for University of Toronto\" class=\"image-display_default\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"insert-display_default-1b10c234-4964-4736-a7f7-b33ff63667f4\" data-insert-attach=\"{\" id=\"\" data-insert-class=\"image-display_default\" data-insert-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2023\/06\/52965\/52965-159250.jpg\" onclick=\"photo('https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2023\/06\/52965\/52965-159250.jpg', true, ''); return false;\" title=\"Looking northeast King's College Circle as landscaping work continues, image by UT Forum contributor limer\"\/><span class=\"image-description\">Looking northeast King&#8217;s College Circle as landscaping work continues, image by UT Forum contributor limer<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/u-t-landscape-landmark-quality.48270\" target=\"_blank\">Landscape of Landmark Quality<\/a> project has advanced after a long and active Winter and Spring of work, the design from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/michael-van-valkenburgh-associates.8164\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates<\/a>\u00a0working with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/kpmb-architects.8018\" target=\"_blank\">KPMB<\/a>, is closing in on the final push. Referring to the image above, the aerial view provides a comprehensive survey of the centre of the site. Looking northeast, the focal point here is the work taking place in the centre of King\u2019s College Circle, where the single-level below grade parking structure and geothermal system has now been completely enclosed from above.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Getting a closer look at the circle\u2019s surface from ground-level in the image below, we can see that it has been paved over. The image below pictures the front steps of King\u2019s College on the right, rejuvenated by the new pavers and plantings. Pictured below is one of U of T\u2019s more quirky buildings, the Toronto Magnetic Meteorological Observatory, constructed in 1840. Looking northeast, with the Gerstein Science Information Centre pictured on the right, we can see that the previous road and landscaping has been completely ripped out almost up to the door of the building, but no new landscaping has been installed.
