The overall winner was the Terminal F roof retrofit project at the Port of Miami, undertaken by Lemartec Builders of Coconut Grove, Fla.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to Lemartec and their remarkable work on the Terminal F retrofit,\u201d said Jennifer Heimburger, MBCEA president. \u201cThis year saw a record number of entrants, and I am continually impressed by the work our members do. All the winners should be applauded for their achievements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>2023 MBCEA Building of the Year Award Winners<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Building of the Year<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>PortMiami Terminal F Roof Retrofit in Miami, FL. Lemartec Corporation of Coconut Grove, Fla., served as the GC\/prime construction manager for the 30,000-square-foot project that features multiple ridgelines and a deep blue metal roof. Varco Pruden (VP) Buildings of Memphis, Tenn., was the metal building and roof manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Education, Recreation and Religious \u2013 Award of Excellence<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Springfield Sports Complex, Springfield, Mo. Crossland Construction Company of Columbus, Kan., was the GC\/construction manager and steel erector on the 94,000-square-foot indoor sports facility. Red Dot Buildings of Athens, Texas, manufactured the metal building.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Education, Recreation and Religious \u2013 Award of Merit<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Picklebarn, Mankato, Minn. APX Construction Group of Mankato, Minn., was the GC for the 32,000-square-foot pickleball complex. The metal building was manufactured by Metallic Buildings of Houston, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Manufacturing and Warehouse \u2013 Award of Excellence<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Home Depot warehouse and store, Houston, Texas. Span Construction &amp; Engineering, Inc. (SPAN) of Madera, Calif., was the metal building supplier and erector for this 116,850-square-foot prototype Home Depot centre. Butler Manufacturing of Kansas City, Mo., manufactured the metal building and roof.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Manufacturing and Warehouse \u2013 Award of Merit<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Costco Wholesale warehouse, St. Augustine, Fla. Span Construction &amp; Engineering, Inc. (SPAN) of Madera, Calif., was the metal building supplier and erector for this 157,522-square-foot facility. Butler Manufacturing of Kansas City, Mo., manufactured the metal building and roof.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Reroof, Renovation and Addition \u2013 Award of Excellence<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Puritan Medical Products Exterior Improvements, Portland, Tenn. Design Systems Builders, LLC, located in Nashville, Tenn., was the metal building and roof erector for the project, which included 195,900-square-feet of reroofing and 76,800-square-feet of metal wall panels. Butler Manufacturing of Kansas City, Mo., supplied the metal roof, while Butler Manufacturing and Kingspan Insulated Panels of Deland, Fla., provided the metal wall panels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Reroof, Renovation and Addition \u2013 Award of Merit<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Alliance HSP renovation and reroof in Pennsauken, N.J. Thomas Phoenix International of Easthampton, N.J., was the metal building erector for the 177,300 square-foot renovation, reconstruction and addition that involved five buildings. Metal Sales Corporation and American Buildings provided the metal buildings, metal roof and metal wall panels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Specialty \u2013 Award of Excellence<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Cote Gold Mine Mill Building, Gogama, Ont. Scott Steel Erectors, located in Hamilton, Ont., served as the metal building erector for the 140,000-square-foot building with a 125-foot-high eave housing two overhead cranes. Steelway Building Systems, located in Aylmer, Ont., was the metal building manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Specialty \u2013 Award of Merit<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>King County Loop Vehicle Maintenance Facility, North Bend, Wash. Bahnmiller Construction of Everett, Wash., served as the metal building supplier and builder on the 12,000-square-foot building that has been LEED Platinum certified.
