Kennedy International Airport in Queens, New York.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span>Project work will include improved roadways, a parking garage and a pedestrian bridge. It is part of the $19 billion investment to overhaul JFK into a \u201cworld-class airport,\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panynj.gov\/port-authority\/en\/press-room\/press-release-archives\/2022-press-releases1\/port-authority-signs--1-24-billion-contract-to-design-and-build-.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>according to the announcement Monday<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><span><span><span><span><span>Swedish contractor and developer Skanska and Nanuet, New York-based Halmar International will work alongside lead designer Centreville, Virginia-based Parsons Corp.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"standard-heading\"><span><span><span><span><span><span>Dive Insight:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Work will include constructing the new on-airport roadway transportation network, retaining walls, bridges and utility relocations and upgrades.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cThe new two main loops will simplify roadway operation and create a more travel-friendly experience for the more than 62 million passengers who come through JFK each year,\u201d Mark Fialkowski, president of Parsons\u2019 Mobility Solutions business unit, said in the announcement.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The parking garage in the Ground Transportation Center will have 1,950 spaces and electric vehicle charging stations. A 400-foot-long elevated pedestrian bridge will connect the garage to the airport\u2019s Terminal One<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>, which is <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.constructiondive.com\/news\/construction-begins-95b-jfk-airport-terminal-one-nyc-new-york\/631727\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>currently under construction<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span><span> by AECOM Tishman.
