Tridel is pressing forward with its commitment to be a leader in driving environmental sustainability. A major condominium home builder, the company recently released its first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, \u201cBuilding a Sustainable Future.\u201d<\/p>\n

The publication outlines Tridel\u2019s ESG vision, progress, and initiatives for their 2022 fiscal year, reflecting the company\u2019s dedication to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and symbolizing its commitment to accountability, transparency, and integrity in its business practices.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an industry leader, Tridel is committed to driving environmental sustainability and positive social impact in Canada\u2019s home building industry,\u201d said company president Jim Ritchie. \u201cOur commitment to corporate stewardship has been ingrained in our organizational purpose since our inception, and we continually strive to redefine the role and responsibilities of a community builder by prioritizing these initiatives within our business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tridel says its ESG priorities, opportunities, and performance goals align with, and are guided by, the pillars of \u201cInnovating for Sustainability\u201d, \u201cEmpowering People and Communities,\u201d and \u201cLeading a Responsible Business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Under the social pillar, Tridel\u2019s ESG report highlights its commitment to supporting Indigenous reconciliation through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives with the company\u2019s first-ever Reconciliation Action Plan, a multi-year roadmap launched in June in alignment with National Indigenous Peoples Day. The company also reports strategic funding of more than $500,000 to charitable and non-profit organizations in 2022, and through community economic development activities that have supported the employment of over 100 Toronto Community Housing residents since partnering with the organization in three revitalization communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cTridel is privileged to shape the Toronto skyline while simultaneously driving positive change in local communities and neighbourhoods,\u201d said Bruno Giancola, senior vice-president of project management, innovation and sustainability at Tridel. \u201cWe are committed to exploring new approaches and leveraging new technologies to positively impact our environment and society.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tridel has also completed a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions baseline study and will use the data to establish future carbon reduction targets to help inform its planned decarbonization strategy on the road to near net zero.<\/p>\n

The company has a history of environmental initiatives, dating back to 2000 as it introduced its Tridel Built Green Built for Life program, won the Building Industry and Land Development Association\u2019s (BILD) Green Builder of the Year 14 times, and began producing corporate social responsibility reports as far back as 2015.<\/p>\n
