As malls in many cities become relics of the past, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/quadreal-property-group.28215\" target=\"_blank\">QuadReal Property Group<\/a> has embarked on a project to reimagine this site. Initially focused around a retail High Street, the plan has transitioned towards a &#8220;village on the park&#8221; concept. QuadReal engaged extensively with the community, and local stakeholders here before making the first application to the City. The revised masterplan, designed by\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/giannone-petricone-associates.7995\" target=\"_blank\">Giannone Petricone Associates<\/a>\u00a0(GPA), includes replacing the entire enclosed mall structure with about 17,187m\u00b2 retail area, approximately 5,270 residential units, and about 2,183m\u00b2 of community amenity area.
