Bill Lee said in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u00a0\u201cThe $790 million investment from Magna will further shape the economic landscape of Lawrence and Haywood counties and strengthen the electric vehicle supply chain in Tennessee for years to come,\u201d Stuart McWhorter, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, said in a statement.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>One Stanton site will include an 800,000-square foot frame and battery enclosures facility, adding a production site to the supply chain as Magna already produces battery enclosures for Ford&#8217;s electric F-150 in Ontario, Canada.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The second Stanton facility will span 140,000-square-feet and produce polyurethane foam, and assemble and sequence just-in-time complete seats.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Production at all three sites is expected to begin in 2025, in time for the automaker to begin production on its Project T3.\u00a0Ford plans to produce 500,000 EV pickup trucks yearly at its BlueOval City metaplant.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Ford has been making big investments over the past year to facilitate future EV production. In addition to the upcoming metaplant in Tennessee, Ford is also building a<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manufacturingdive.com\/news\/ford-ev-battery-plant-michigan-lithium-phosphate\/642668\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>$3.5 billion EV plant<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in Marshall, Michigan, and is investing $1.3 billion to <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manufacturingdive.com\/news\/ford-invest-1-point-3-billion-canada-manufacturing-site-ev-production\/647443\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>transform its Oakville Assembly Complex<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in Ontario, Canada, into an EV production facility.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Automakers have been building large EV campuses in the U.S. to meet the rising demand, and bringing their supplier facilities with them. Hyundai is building a <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manufacturingdive.com\/news\/third-hyundai-supplier-sets-up-factory-near-incoming-ev-plant\/640074\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>$5.5 EV metacampus<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in Ellabell, Georgia, as well as a <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manufacturingdive.com\/news\/lg-energy-solution-hyundai-4-3b-joint-battery-cell-plant-georgia\/651422\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>$4.3 billion battery cell plant<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> with LG Energy nearby.
