He came to the company in 2018 and joined CFC\u2019s executive team in 2020.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"image-right inside_story\">\n<div class=\"figure_content\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"inside_story_caption\">\n<p>Sean Smith<\/p>\n<p>Courtesy of CFC Construction<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Smith, who serves on the board of directors of the Associated General Contractors of Colorado, previously ran his own development and general contracting business.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>There, he managed everything from entitlements to project financing, material sourcing, subcontractor management and scheduling, and oversaw projects all the way to obtaining a certificate of occupancy. His projects have achieved LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Salt Lake City, Utah-based Big D Construction, which had $2.5 billion in revenue last year, bought CFC Construction in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>CFC, which was founded in 1977, has continued to operate under its own name with local management in place since then. Founder EJ Olbright still serves as the firm\u2019s chair and Smith will helm the firm under that same structure. The firm has built a range of projects, including high-rises, offices, hotels, resorts, multifamily, retail, government buildings and schools.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u201cIn selecting Sean as our new president, we sought a visionary leader with a proven track record of success, a passion for our industry, and the ability to inspire and empower others.
