Fabrication at the new facility will primarily focus on SIN Beam and joist production, as well as Steelcon\u2019s patent-pending SIN Floor composite flooring system. It will house two of Steelcon\u2019s four SIN Beam lines.<\/p>\n<p>Steelcon\u2019s SIN Floor composite flooring system is a complete structural panel system, comprised of three main parts: two cold-formed c-sections, a sinusoidally-corrugated deck and a poured concrete topping, states a release.<\/p>\n<p>The c-sections act as beams and are continuously welded to the corrugated deck to create one homogenous steel panel. The panels arrive to site fully preassembled and are erected between other structural members and once the poured concrete topping has cured, the panel acts in composite action to take advantage of the concrete\u2019s compressive strength and the steel\u2019s tensile strength.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Production at the new Welland facility is set to begin in September.
