{"id":20473,"date":"2023-08-07T20:33:57","date_gmt":"2023-08-08T03:33:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/clark-tops-out-first-of-3-towers-at-washington-dc-apartment-project\/"},"modified":"2023-08-07T20:33:58","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T03:33:58","slug":"clark-tops-out-first-of-3-towers-at-washington-dc-apartment-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/clark-tops-out-first-of-3-towers-at-washington-dc-apartment-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Clark tops out first of 3 towers at Washington, DC, apartment project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Bethesda, Maryland-based Clark Construction has topped out Phase One of The Stacks,\u00a0a 2.7 million-square-foot, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/the-stacks-tops-out-in-buzzard-point-301891455.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>mixed-use development in Washington, D.C\u2019s<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u00a0Buzzard\u2019s Point neighborhood, according to an Aug. 2 press release.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Clark, along with D.C.-based real estate developers Akridge and National Real Estate Development, finished the structural concrete on Building B, the first of three residential towers on the project.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Since the <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/the-stacks-breaks-ground-in-buzzard-point-301552229.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>project broke ground<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in May 2022, crews have placed 66,000 cubic yards of concrete. Now that Building B\u2019s tower is complete, the team will finish Building A and Building C, before shifting focus to the building envelope and interior work.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Phase One, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/washington\/news\/2023\/04\/28\/bank-ozk-akridge-the-stacks-audi-stadium.html\" target=\"_blank\">estimated to cost $643 million<\/a>, according to the Washington Business Journal,\u00a0will create 1,100 rental apartments, 35,000 square feet of retail, 300,000 square feet of below-grade parking and a 15,000-square-foot public park, according to the release.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>A pedestrian-only path will run across the project, guiding walkers past Audi Field \u2014 home turf of Major League Soccer\u2019s D.C.
