One such skyscraping Mississauga proposal is at\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/180-burnhamthorpe-road-west.53437\" target=\"_blank\">180 Burnhamthorpe Road West<\/a>, across from Square One Shopping Centre and the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/projects\/exchange-district-condos.42230\" target=\"_blank\">Exchange District Condos<\/a>. From\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/emblem-developments.41148\" target=\"_blank\">Emblem Developments<\/a>, the site is strategically located a couple blocks west of the Burnhamthorpe stop on the Hurontario LRT, now under construction, underscoring the area&#8217;s burgeoning urban prominence.<\/p>\n<p><imgx alt=\"180 Burnhamthorpe Road West, Mississauga, Arcadis, Emblem Developments\" class=\"image-display_default\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"insert-display_default-e45316fd-89c9-4e12-9848-1cde7fdadc77\" data-insert-attach=\"{\" id=\"\" data-insert-class=\"image-display_default\" data-insert-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2023\/08\/53628\/53628-161518.jpg\" onclick=\"photo('https:\/\/cdn.skyrisecities.com\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/articles\/2023\/08\/53628\/53628-161518.jpg', true, ''); return false;\" title=\"Looking east to 180 Burnhamthorpe Road West, designed by Arcadis for Emblem Developments\"\/><span class=\"image-description\">Looking east to 180 Burnhamthorpe Road West, designed by Arcadis for Emblem Developments<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Set to transform the currently vacant land, the project envisions a complex of sibling towers. Initially proposed at 45 and 65 storeys in the original submission from July 2021, (see below), a resubmission from May, 2022, obscured until recently for having been mis-referenced in Mississauga&#8217;s online development materials, now features towers rising to 46 and 71 storeys, or 155.40m and 230.15m respectively. Both the original and the new designs are by\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/arcadis.8006\" target=\"_blank\">Arcadis<\/a> \u2014 the Amsterdam-based global firm that acquired Toronto-based IBI Group in Fall 2022. Of the spaces, 776 would be for residents, and 178 for visitors; of the visitor spaces, 73 are allocated for office and retail use.<\/p>\n<p>In response to recently updated Mississauga bicycling parking regulations, provisions have been made for 1,087 bicycle parking spaces, of which 950 are for residential long-term use. To the west, a road named The Exchange references the Exchange District, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.camrost.com\/projects\/exchange-district\/\" target=\"_blank\">a new master-planned community<\/a> being built by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/urbantoronto.ca\/database\/companies\/camrost-felcorp.7662\" target=\"_blank\">Camrost-Felcorp<\/a>, with architectural and placemaking services from Arcadis.
