More than 40 industrial, commercial, institutional, multi-family residential, and special projects will be recognized by the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) this October, when winning companies receive their 2023 Awards of Excellence Silver Awards at a gala event at the Vancouver Convention Centre West.<\/p>\n

This year, 43 Silver Award winners were selected in 15 project categories from a pool of 107 entries spanning 79 projects that represented more than $2.8 billion in construction value. The project-specific awards recognize the VRCA\u2019s finest member companies and feature industrial, commercial, institutional, multi-family residential, and special projects.<\/p>\n

Most nominated projects are in the Lower Mainland, although some project scope included multiple locations. Entries were also received for projects undertaken by member organizations in Bowen Island, Oliver, Powell River and Prince George. Submissions include hospital redevelopment and expansions, transit upgrades, public space, and park projects, infrastructure enhancements, and tenant improvements.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to this year\u2019s Silver Award winners!\u201d said newly appointed VRCA president, Jeannine Martin. \u201cI\u2019ve been a fierce competitor in past awards, and I have seen firsthand the pride and excitement participants have when presenting their projects to the judges. Celebrating construction by annually recognizing these achievements and this passion is important to our industry and those who work in it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVRCA members offered up many difficult, complex, and impressive projects to the Awards of Excellence judging panel in 2023.\u00a0 Determining the winners was particularly challenging this year.\u00a0 The determination of the VRCA members in meeting and exceeding our clients\u2019 expectations was evident in every category.\u00a0 Congratulations to all entrants and to the Silver Award winners,\u201d said Bob Proctor, chair of VRCA\u2019s Awards of Excellence Committee.<\/p>\n
