{"id":21618,"date":"2023-09-06T10:55:59","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T17:55:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/government-of-canada-supports-energy-saving-retrofits-in-nova-scotia\/"},"modified":"2023-09-06T10:56:00","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T17:56:00","slug":"government-of-canada-supports-energy-saving-retrofits-in-nova-scotia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/government-of-canada-supports-energy-saving-retrofits-in-nova-scotia\/","title":{"rendered":"Government of Canada supports energy-saving retrofits in Nova Scotia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/files\/membership-default-internal\/\" class=\"memberhide\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/01\/20220718_175041000_iOS.jpg\" alt=\"-\"><\/a><br\/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sept. 6, 2023 \u2013 The Government of Canada and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) are investing $500,000 in decarbonizing the building sector through the Green Municipal Fund\u2019s (GMF)\u00a0Sustainable Affordable Housing (SAH) initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The funding will directly support New Dawn Enterprises Ltd.\u2019s, a non-profit enterprise, ambitious energy-saving retrofit of 20 homes in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p>The homes are located on the former property of the Department of National Defense and will soon see several upgrades including to the heating, cooling and water systems, as well as\u00a0improvements to insulation and air sealing.<\/p>\n<p>The investment will also allow the Pine Tree Park community to install a ground-level solar panel system.
