And in Milwaukee, legislators have floated the idea of <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/story\/_\/id\/38432177\/republicans-propose-614m-public-funds-brewers-stadium-upgrades\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>spending $614 million in public funds<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> to renovate the Brewers\u2019 stadium there.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>While stadium projects that combine private and public money have become increasingly common, they also pose challenges for contractors. For example, Providence, Rhode Island-based Gilbane and New York-based Turner, the JV building the Bills stadium, took heat when initial workforce participation <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.constructiondive.com\/news\/gilbane-turner-miss-diversity-mwbe-goals-new-york-bills-stadium\/689020\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>goals for minorities and women fell short<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>, according to a review by the state of New York.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>The Tampa Bay Rays\u2019 new proposed stadium, which would be part of a larger, $6.5 billion development in <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stpete.org\/residents\/current_projects\/tropicana_field_site.php\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>St. Petersburg\u2019s Historic Gas Plant district<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>, also has diversity and inclusion goals.
