Global IoT services provider Trackunit has acquired North American field services expert OEM Solutions Inc. The company says the purchase is part of its drive to offer customers a complete service throughout the lifecycle of connected equipment.<\/p>\n

The deal will see Chicago-headquartered OEMSI become a part of Trackunit\u2019s ecosystem enabling OEMs and fleet owners to leverage managed deployment services across North America. OEMSI has a network of professionally certified installers throughout the United States, and had recently expanded into Canada.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe industry in North America typically relies on third-party service providers for IoT deployments, but with this move, we\u2019re changing the game by bringing OEMSI into Trackunit,\u201d said Trackunit chief customer officer Mathias Frost, who explained that speed of deployment can be a barrier finding the potential economic value that can be found through the use of IoT, especially for large fleet owners.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe acquisition of OEMSI enables Trackunit to respond to increasing customer demands for scaled installation services, particularly in the critical implementation phase that often determines success or failure,\u201d said Frost. \u201cA smooth process consists of healthy connected equipment and fuels subsequent service and application layers with the right data at the right time. We\u2019re bringing in technical expertise and reach to help our customers get their desired business outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded in 2009, OEMSI president and co-founder Alex Mota has been in the field with the installation specialists from day one.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so excited to be joining Trackunit after years of working together,\u201d said Mota. \u201cThis is a big step for OEMSI and together, I am sure we\u2019re going to be able to offer customers an even stronger proposition moving forward both in terms of service and in the longer term, geographical scope.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were drawn to OEMSI because they have already established a strong reputation that aligns with the customer-service values underpinning our own approach,\u201d said Frost. \u201cThis step was really the next logical thing to do as it will help ease some of the industry-wide challenges with connected fleets.\u201d<\/p>\n
