In addition,\u00a0<strong>Kai Backman<\/strong>, partner at Lifeline, will join the board.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-micro-factories\">Micro-factories<\/h2>\n<p>Hyperion provides an end-to-end solution in the form of mobile 3D printing Micro-factories.\u00a0\u00a0They\u00a0can work either in a fixed location or travel from site to site, combining the high precision of industrial robots with the intelligence and control of Hyperion\u2019s proprietary hardware and software.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The solution\u00a0allows customers to produce reinforced concrete structures for industrial and infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to invest in Hyperion, a company that has found a very unique way to implement additive manufacturing and software in concrete production,\u201d\u00a0Backman\u00a0said.\u00a0\u201cThe combination of highly optimized structures, robotically manufactured and made with sustainable concrete,\u00a0provides a unique edge for Hyperion to scale up its Micro-factories and make a massive impact in this very conservative industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/11\/Hyperion-robotics-micro-factory.jpeg\" alt=\"-\" class=\"wp-image-2014550 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/essential.construction\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/11\/Hyperion-robotics-micro-factory.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/aec-business.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Hyperion-robotics-micro-factory-768x448.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"><\/noscript><figcaption>An example of micro-factory configuration<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-taking-up-the-co2-challenge\">Taking up the CO2 challenge<\/h2>\n<p>Cement is the source of about 8% of the world\u2019s carbon dioxide emissions. To solve the climate crisis, we must find solutions to reduce the carbon intensity in the construction sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201dHyperion Robotics developed a key technology that reduces carbon dioxide emission in two ways: It allows for more complex structures that reduce the amount of material used by up to 75% vs. conventional structures,\u00a0and it recycles industrial waste to produce low-carbon cement mixtures,\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Alexander Langguth<\/strong>, General Partner at \u00dcbermorgen Ventures,\u00a0said.\u00a0\u201dMoreover, Hyperion decreases construction costs significantly for multiple use-cases and increases labor safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past few decades, construction has been facing numerous challenges, namely logistics complexities to project delays, high costs,\u00a0and health and safety risks.
