Hectare Construction, a specialized contractor in the development of composite structural systems combining precast concrete and steel, has signed an exclusivity agreement for Quebec with Stubbe\u2019s to provide Hectare Construction\u2019s clients, based in Quebec, with Stubbe\u2019s precast concrete products. The company has been working with Stubbe\u2019s and using its product in the province of Quebec since 2018.<\/p>\n

The precast products are part of a new system that Hectare uses to construct multi-story structures. The system involves composite structures combining precast concrete and steel, replacing formwork and on-site cast concrete during building construction. In practical terms, it consists of hollowed-out concrete slabs combined with composite beams and columns. Since the structure is already precast, it only needs to be assembled on-site, making it possible to assemble a multi-story structure with as few as six employees, says the company.<\/p>\n

Hectare Construction has already completed several projects across Quebec and Ontario, including a number of rental condo buildings. The four phases of the Le Pivot project, on the banks of the Saint-Charles River in the Quebec region, also use the building method. And care facilities for the elderly in Cornwall and Kemptville, as well as multi-dwelling projects like Le Zen, in Gatineau, Que., and Luxembourg \u2013 Phase IV in Quebec, have also been constructed this way.<\/p>\n
