This tool leverages AI to predict potential delay risks and alerts construction teams about pace issues, enabling them to address these problems proactively before they escalate. The feature provides detailed, activity-level insights into the root causes of delays, helping project managers continuously enhance performance and strategy.

Identifying potential delay-causing activities

Integrated seamlessly into Buildots’ main dashboard, Delay Forecast identifies activities at risk of falling behind schedule. It quantifies these risks by projecting forecasted delays and recommends pace adjustments to mitigate and prevent delays.

When users receive delay alerts, they can input new pace assumptions to see how these changes might affect the timeline. This allows for optimizing and fine-tuning strategies, helping project teams determine the best course of action.

Additionally, the dashboard allows teams to track risk trends week by week, giving them a clear view of the impact of their decisions.

Mitigating a common predicament

Buildots developed the feature following research indicating that 62% of construction site activities consistently run slower than planned, with 25% running at half the planned pace. These findings highlight that critical activities often go unnoticed until they significantly impact project timelines.

“At Buildots we believe that accurate progress data, performance indicators, and data-driven insights are critical to solving issues that plague almost all construction projects, such as delays and inefficiency,” said Aviv Leibovici, Buildots co-founder and CPO. “Those core beliefs inspire all that we do, from developing the Performance Driven Construction Management (PDCM) method, to designing new tools like Delay Forecast.”

Tests show impressive results

The new feature has been beta-tested on various global construction sites, demonstrating a 50% reduction in delay times when used alongside the PDCM method.

For example, at a large-scale Danish government complex built by Scandinavian contractor NCC Denmark, project manager Niels Frank Jensen noted, “Using Delay Forecast, not only can we now identify risks very early, but also inform our trades of the exact pace required to meet the schedule. Trades can adjust manpower resources accordingly by viewing quantities of work. We’re finally able to back our instincts and prioritize activities based on actual performance and what’s really at risk.”

Delay Forecast is now available to all current Buildots users and new customers.

Source: Buildots, London, May 15, 2024

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-5143531171910809"
     data-ad-slot="8320848692"
     data-ad-format="auto"
     data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

This article was originally posted at Source link

Buildots, an AI construction technology company, has introduced its new Delay Forecast feature.
