Photo courtesy of Saint-Gobain.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In April of 2024, one of the oldest building product manufacturers in the world, <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saint-gobain-northamerica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saint-Gobain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> acquired Canadian manufacturer, The Bailey Group of Companies. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Founded in Paris, France, in 1665, Saint-Gobain has become an international construction materials giant. Ontario-based Bailey has been working in conjunction with Saint-Gobain for 12 years, before the acquisition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.saint-gobain-northamerica.com\/company\/newsroom\/news-releases\/saint-gobain-announces-intent-acquire-bailey-group-companies-leaders\" target=\"_blank\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saint-Gobain\u2019s news release<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the acquisition cost $880 million. \u201cAs part of the pending acquisition, Saint-Gobain will also complete the purchase of the remaining equity and assets of its decade-long ceiling grid manufacturing joint venture with Bailey.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Julie Bonamy, CEO of Saint-Gobain Canada, explains that sustainability and creating eco-friendly houses for Canadians are at the top of the company\u2019s priority. \u201cWe want to do is to bring high value-added solutions to our customers,\u201d says Bonamy. She also reiterates the importance of sustainable construction worldwide, but more specifically in Canada. \u201cWe want every Canadian to have a home.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding Saint-Gobain\u2019s strategy regarding Bailey and the Canadian market, Bonamy explains that the company has invested more than four billion dollars in Canada. \u201cWe believe it<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s a growing market,\u201d says Bonamy, who foresees many growth opportunities for both companies in Canada. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for Bailey itself, not much will change concerning production and manufacturing. \u201cIt\u2019s business as usual,\u201d says Bonamy. The Bailey management team is staying in their current positions and will be working collaboratively alongside Saint-Gobain. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bonamy reiterates the importance of a sustainable work environment and company. To her, it\u2019s vital that Saint-Gobain prioritizes caring for the planet by removing carbon dioxide b<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from the environment through its products and eco-friendly practices. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Bonamy, Saint-Gobain\u2019s principles as a company motivate her to prevail in the industry.
