Just steps from the subway station to the north, construction of\u00a0Yonge at Wellesley Station<\/a>\u00a0condominiums is now ascending above grade in Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Village. Located at the northeast corner of Maitland Street and Maitland Terrace, the 41-storey condominium tower is designed by BDP Quadrangle<\/a> for Plaza<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Preparations for the tower crane installation were underway in UrbanToronto\u2019s last update<\/a> from April, 2024. Now, construction has progressed to the three-storey podium. The podium has two fully formed storeys, with construction progressing on the partially formed third floor.\u00a0<\/p>\n In this east-facing drone shot from August, 2024, construction was just arriving at grade, with work beginning on the ground-level slab in the southeast corner of the site. The crane, installed in April, presides otherwise over concrete walls and columns for the P1 level of the two-level underground garage. Column formwork is visible near the centre, with additional formwork staged at the northwest corner.\u00a0<\/p>\n By September, 2024, progress was underway on the ground floor. Concrete walls have been formed around the crane. To the right, columns are completed, with additional formwork staged behind them. In the foreground, a concrete bucket sits ready for future pours.<\/p>\n This month, the third storey is partially shrouded in white tarp along the west and south elevations. The south side is further along, featuring concrete columns and decking in place for the third-floor slab, with concrete walls and formwork visible on the north side. The crane’s load line, lowered behind the concrete mixer truck, is preparing to hoist a bucket of fresh concrete.<\/p>\n This northwest-facing view highlights the east elevation, where the underground parking entrance will be surrounded by white precast concrete. A yellow chute descends towards temporary wooden structures, likely used for debris disposal or ventilation. Hoarding marks vehicle access at the southeast corner, where we see a skid-steer loader. Concrete and scaffolding are visible underneath the white tarp, while a white concrete boom pump rises above the third floor\u2019s formwork on the north side. Fencing surrounds the fourth level on the left.<\/p>\n Above the podium, the fourth storey will be a thinner \u201creveal\u201d floor featuring fritted glass and spandrel, transitioning to the tower volume\u2019s window wall system, grey spandrel, and precast white concrete.
