It is estimated the leisure centre will open in 2027\/28.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The approved plans include:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_494033\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2025-01-17-at-07.41.59.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-494033 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2025-01-17-at-07.41.59.png\" alt=\"-\" width=\"1480\" height=\"1024\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Four housing blocks built to the East of the new leisure centre on West of Peal Gardens and North of Ruislip Road East<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>leisure centre<\/strong> with a 50m main pool with 10 lanes, leisure pool, 270 spectator seats, caf\u00e9, state of the art fitness suite, soft play, car and bicycle parking<\/li>\n<li>300 homes with 35% of the new homes designated as affordable including social rent<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced parkland<\/strong> with outdoor landscaped facilities in the park area, 450 tree plantings, a new playground, skate park, BMX track and a new accessible bridge and footpaths<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ealing\u2019s ambitions for the Gurnell development and wider growth across the borough is supported by commitments to deliver 28,000 new homes over the next 15 years.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gurnell-leisure-centre.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-494017\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gurnell-leisure-centre.png\" alt=\"-\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of these commitments, Gurnell and other sites are being brought forward for investment and development, where the council is seeking to work in partnership with the private sector to achieve its ambitions for the borough.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Further partnership opportunities are expected to be announced in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ealing Council Leader, Cllr Peter Mason, said: \u201cThis is the next big step in making good on our commitment to deliver a new leisure centre to replace Gurnell, which will bring back a landmark location for sport and leisure to Ealing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWith the new plans now approved, we\u2019re pleased that we are one step closer towards returning a much-loved facility to the community, and delivering the homes our borough needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially designed by Mikhail Riches architects and masterplanners, Ealing Council is seeking a development partner to deliver the residential development, with an appointment intending to be made by Winter 2025\/26.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>[ad_2]<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/2025\/01\/17\/go-ahead-for-125m-ealing-leisure-centre-and-homes-scheme\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">This article was originally posted at Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] The planning committee\u2019s decision to approve the \u00a3125m Gurnell leisure centre and residential scheme will now go to the &#8230;
