Brandt, one of Canada\u2019s largest privately owned companies, spread a lot of holiday cheer around this year as 11 charities shared in $550,000 of donations collected through the company\u2019s Thanks a Billion Holiday Fund.<\/p>\n
The contributions were part of the company\u2019s annual week-long virtual holiday celebration, where Brandt employees choose how the funds are distributed in their local communities. Over the past five years, Brandt employees have directed $2.2 million to charities in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand, all countries where the company has facilities and staff.<\/p>\n
\u201cSupporting our communities is a priority for us. We give back to strengthen the places where our employees and customers live and work, ensuring a brighter future for us all,\u201d said Matt Semple, the company\u2019s senior vice-president of marketing. \u201cThe holidays are a time for gratitude, and the Thanks A Billion Holiday Fund is the Brandt Family\u2019s way of saying thank you to our communities and the organizations that make them strong.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s recipients included the Canadian Cancer Society, Make a Wish Canada, Alzheimer Society of Canada, MS Canada, Wounded Warrior Project, Mayo Clinic, Heartland Community College Foundation, Rural Aid Australia, Make-A-Wish Australia, Cancer Society New Zealand, and the New Zealand Rural Support Charitable Trust.<\/p>\n
The Brandt\u2019s Thanks a Billion program is about to celebrate its thirteenth anniversary. Since its inception, the program has raised more than $25 million to help charities in more than 250 communities across Canada, the United States, New Zealand and Australia.<\/p>\n
