Aecon<\/a> was joined by CarbiCrete<\/a> and Innocon<\/a> (a subsidiary of Lafarge Canada) for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Aecon\u2019s Innovation and Training Centre in Holland Landing, Ont., to mark the completion of construction for the first structure using CarbiCrete\u2019s cement-free concrete masonry units (CMUs) and Lafarge Canada\u2019s advanced ECOpact low-carbon concrete. <\/span>The low-carbon building will be used by Aecon as a tool storage facility for trainees working at the facility.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are excited to collaborate with Lafarge and CarbiCrete in testing low-carbon concrete and cement-free concrete blocks, taking an important step toward advancing sustainability in the construction industry,\u201d says Prabh K.
