Rising on Sheppard Avenue East west of Warden Avenue, Pinnacle Toronto East<\/a> is transforming a 3.5-acre site in northwest Scarborough, bringing two 30-storey towers, an 11-storey mid-rise, and three blocks of townhouses to the growing corridor. Designed by Arcadis<\/a> for Pinnacle International<\/a>, the development could one day be within walking distance of a subway station, depending on the fate of the proposed\u00a0Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n UrbanToronto last provided an update on the development in July, 2024<\/a>. Now, the topped-off towers are entering the final phases of cladding and interior finishing.<\/p>\n Looking northeast across Sheppard Avenue in October, 2024, the west and east towers had reached 29 storeys. The third tower crane, previously positioned at the north end for the mid-rise, had been dismantled in September. The podium is clad in brick-patterned precast panels, while windows feature a distinctive blue tinted reflective coating. Light-coloured precast panels extend in columns up to about 12 or 14 storeys, running alongside the inset and projecting balconies.\u00a0<\/p>\n Looking directly north, this view highlights the mostly red-stained precast cladding applied to the four-storey podium, with the east side awaiting staining. Sections of neutral precast cladding provide contrast, including at the entrance. Glazing is seen at the step-back on the fifth and sixth floors that top the podium, along with staining on the fifth floor and portions of the inset balconies. Shoring posts support the still-curing upper levels, clearly visible on the columns of projecting balconies.<\/p>\n This close-up captures the texture of the brick cladding and staining. Black metal louvres are installed above the windows, along with dark mullions and grey spandrel panels, while light-coloured accents punctuate the corners.<\/p>\n An aerial view looking southeast in November, 2024 captures the whole project, although a cavity in the heart of the podium that cannot be seen from this vantage point creates a central courtyard. At the north end, the eight-storey mid-rise section features upper-level step-backs along its north elevation, leading to a glazed and spandrel-clad mechanical section. Below, townhomes line the north end, merging with the podium\u2019s cladding, now fully stained. Atop the two high-rise towers, formwork, and completed columns shape the mechanical penthouse levels.<\/p>\n In the shot below of the east elevation of the east tower, glazing installation was then complete across the first nine storeys. Above, neutral precast panels extend another 13 floors up.\u00a0<\/p>\n Looking southwest this month, this view captures the extended cruciform peaks of the mechanical penthouses of both towers. The tower crane for the west tower has been dismantled, with its construction hoist remaining along the east side. Across from it, the east tower retains its crane, which remains active, seen here hoisting cladding. Below, glazing installation rises to the 15th floor and sections of the 16th and 17th floors.<\/p>\n With a total of 788 residential units, the development\u2019s mid-rise rises 36.56m, while the towers stand at 99.47m.
