Concord Adex<\/a>\u2019s growing Concord Park Place community is a nearly two-decade-long transformation of former industrial lands in Toronto’s Bayview Village. The latest complex to rise within it is\u00a0King\u2019s Landing<\/a>, a trio of\u00a0 towers of 19, 27, and 31 storeys for which excavation began in 2021. Designed by DIALOG<\/a>, the complex is anchored by a six-storey podium.<\/p>\n In this west-facing image from March, 2022, excavation is underway, with the south end of the L-shaped pit seen through the construction fence. Orange tarps line sections of the excavation walls, with tiebacks securing the wall into the earth on the left. In the foreground, the crane for the 27-storey east tower, installed in November, 2021, is surrounded by concrete formwork. Further back, a crane for the 31-storey southwest tower is visible, installed a few months later in December, 2021. To the left rear, the last of the\u00a0Saisons<\/a>\u00a0towers, a previous phase of Concord Park Place, is under construction. It reached completion in 2024.<\/p>\n In this May, 2023 aerial image that faces northwest, we see the west side of the L-shaped worksite. At that point, the base of the southwest and east towers (the latter off to the right of the photo) had reached grade level, with concrete slab, walls, and columns visible below. Behind and to the right, the third crane, installed in March, 2022 for the 19-storey north tower, is still below grade, with formwork and structural work ongoing. To the left is the green of Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ Park with its eponymous Community Centre rising behind it, and the entrance to Bessarion station on Sheppard Line 4 immediately beside it.<\/p>\n By August, 2024, the three towers were rising above the fully formed podium, its cladding installation mostly complete at that point. From left to right in this southwest-facing view, the towers stand at 14, 17, and 13 storeys.\u00a0<\/p>\n Looking from northeast across the corner of Billies Heights and Esther Shiner Boulevard in November, 2024, the 19-storey tower at left is now topped off, with the mechanical penthouse visible. To the centre and right, we see the residential floors fully formed for the 27- and 31-storey towers, with the mechanical penthouses still to be formed. Construction hoists can be seen along the exteriors, while glazing has been installed more than halfway up all three towers. The central entrance area is flanked by large storefront openings, preparing for future retail and lobby spaces.<\/p>\n This month, a close-up of the north and east sides below the tallest tower highlights the cladding, balcony guard, and glazing details. The podium features a repeating pattern of white, black, and bronze guards for the balconies. Black mullions and copper-toned panels contrast with the gray spandrel panels. The thicker concrete slab atop the podium denotes the edges of rooftop terraces.<\/p>\n In this southeast-facing view, the north tower\u2019s residential floors are now fully enclosed with glazing other than where the construction hoist is still present, while its crane is gone, having been dismantled at the start of the year. Cladding continues to be applied to the topped-off southwest and east towers, complemented by a vertical copper-toned band that occurs on all three towers as a shared design element. Weatherproofing materials can be seen on sections of the podium, in advance of the installation of white masonry cladding to complete the base\u2019s exterior finish.\u00a0<\/p>\n The three towers rise heights of 71.01m, 94.79m, and 107.89m, and will collectively house 990 residential units.<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
