Unite has worked closely with the Battersea Power Station Development Company to ensure that health and safety reps play a crucial role onsite.<\/p>\n
Based on recent HSE data, major construction projects in the UK experience an average of approximately 2,640 non-fatal serious injuries per 100,000 workers. Under the average rate, the Battersea Power Station development should have had over 100 serious accidents instead of zero.<\/p>\n
Unite regional officer Declan Murphy said: \u201cI want to acknowledge the importance of the positive day-to-day working relationship with the developer who insisted on the same values from all their construction firms. Unite wants to ensure this relationship continues to complete the remaining phases of the project.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
