Right on the heels of The One<\/a>, SkyTower at Pinnacle One Yonge<\/a> is another Toronto skyscraper ascending toward supertall status, now standing at approximately 60 storeys and just a bit shy of 200m in height. Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects<\/a> for Pinnacle International<\/a>, the tower will be Canada\u2019s tallest building at 105 storeys. UrbanToronto\u2019s last update<\/a> was in October, 2024, chronicling one of the raisings of the crane at that time.<\/p>\n In the UrbanToronto Forum, members are closely following Pinnacle One Yonge’s height race with The One, covered in an update last week<\/a>. While The One nears the 300m threshold, SkyTower is steadily climbing toward its own record-setting height.<\/p>\n In this aerial view from January, 2025, work progresses on the southwest corner of the podium, where crews were installing a canopy structure along the south and west elevations. A mobile crane mounted on a flatbed truck is positioned along the sidewalk, with orange boom lifts for ongoing work on the support brackets. To the left on the west elevation, the base of the tower crane is anchored atop the second floor beside the Pinnacle logo.<\/p>\n SkyTower is seen below at approximately 58 storeys. At the top, a yellow holiday star adorns the slewing unit of the tower crane while the curtain wall glazing continues its ascent, now applied up to the 41st floor at the northeast and northwest corners. Along the 31st and 32nd floors, newly installed white cladding bands contrast against the darker glazing. Below, the balcony glazing installation along the central north elevation has advanced to the 30th floor.<\/p>\n In this drone view looking southwest, the uppermost levels are illuminated as construction advances on the uppermost floor. The reinforced concrete core is surrounded by formwork panels extending outward, shaping the elliptical floor-plate. Four vertical formwork sections line the west and east elevations, while two additional sections are positioned on the north and south sides. A red concrete boom pump is visible on the left.\u00a0<\/p>\n Looking northeast from grade this month, work continues on the curtain wall and cladding installation, with a red boom lift positioned between Phase 1 and SkyTower. Further application of the white horizontal bands at the corners of the seven transitional floors above the podium should soon emphasize the gradual recession of the corner balconies. Mid-tower sections between floors 18 and 25 remain in progress, with insulation installed and awaiting glazing and cladding application.\u00a0<\/p>\n In this drone view looking east, the Rail Climbing System (RCS) is now positioned at approximately the 60th floor. The glass curtain wall installation has advanced, reaching the 40th floor on the southwest corner and the 42nd on the northwest. The balconies, formed from white concrete slabs, will eventually feature white and fritted glass balcony guards. SkyTower now nears the height of the adjacent 217m, 65-storey Phase 1 ‘Prestige’ tower.<\/p>\n SkyTower will reach a final height of 345.5m as Canada\u2019s first building with over 100 storeys.<\/p>\n UrbanToronto will continue to follow progress on this development, but in the meantime, you can learn more about it from our Database file, linked below.
