The year prior, Ingka Group, the retailer\u2019s largest franchisor, said it planned to <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildive.com\/news\/ikea-new-store-formats\/648706\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>invest another 3 billion euros into new and current locations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in the U.S.,\u00a0France, Finland, Canada, Germany and Spain.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>In January 2024, the company announced <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildive.com\/news\/ikea-expands-plan-order-online-pick-up-locations\/705002\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>plans to open four Plan &amp; Order points with Pickup<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span>\u00a0locations in Texas, Georgia and California. Those four store openings followed its previous plans to open similar store formats in Texas and Maryland.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>In July, Ingka Group <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildive.com\/news\/ikea-majority-owner-invests-in-real-estate-in-nyc\/720385\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>unveiled its plans for a mixed-use commercial building<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span><span><span><span><span> in Manhattan as part of its strategy to enter more urban spaces. The company said it would allocate 80,000 square feet toward a two-level customer meeting point.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>So far, its investments appear to be paying off.
