TORONTO \u2013 Since 1998 the <\/span>National Association of Women in Construction<\/span><\/a>\u202f(NAWIC) has been commemorating <\/span>WIC Week\u2122<\/span><\/a>, or Women in Construction Week\u2122, by celebrating the successes of women in the sector, while furthering the cause to get more involved in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n The week kicked off yesterday (March 2) and will run until March 8. <\/span>This year\u2019s theme, \u201cTogether we Rise,\u201d celebrates the strength and knowledge of women and the critical role they play in shaping the future of construction.<\/span><\/p>\n Construction firms of all sizes and types are encouraged to participate in WIC Week and show their<\/span> support for women employees.<\/span><\/p>\n All year long, the Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce have the privilege of getting a firsthand look at the efforts being made by women in the industry by telling their stories.<\/span><\/p>\n Whether it\u2019s more funding for supports like proper fitting PPE or a children\u2019s book for young girls, we are fortunate to feature it all, while still understanding there is work to be done.<\/span><\/p>\n During the entire month of March in our\u202f<\/span>Women in Construction feature<\/span><\/a> we will be showcasing various women and their personal journeys to success.<\/span><\/p>\n Watch for more on our websites and help us celebrate these trailblazers.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
