The treated water will then undergo a multi-step purification process \u2014 including membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, UV light with advanced oxidation, granular activated carbon filtration and chlorine disinfection \u2014 in order to surpass drinking water quality standards.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>El Paso Water worked with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for more than a decade to ensure that the water produced at the facility will meet state and federal requirements for safe drinking water, according to the release.
