Planning approval yesterday for a landmark mixed-use building paves the way for over 400 build to rent homes in the first phase of the major project.<\/p>\n
Designed by Bell Phillips and local practice Intervention Architecture, the block will overlook Manor Square and also feature a health and wellbeing-inspired leisure facility, along with a mix of shops, bars and restaurants.<\/p>\n
Spearheaded by a joint venture between Birmingham City Council and Lendlease, the 17-hectare Smithfield Birmingham site gained outlining planning last June for over 3,000 homes,\u00a0 more than 82,000 sq m of office space and shops.<\/p>\n
